A special thanks to the FirstLine Staff in Kansas City!!

I wish to convey my personal thanks to the men and women who work so diligently to provide the security and customer service that distinguish us here at Kansas City International Airport (MCI). The recent visit of Admiral Jim Loy, Administrator of TSA, was an excellent opportunity to show our Senior Leadership what we do and how well we do it.

Admiral Loy’s staff sent me a personal note of thanks for an incredibly well organized and well-prepared day – and shared with me that the Admiral’s time during the screener roundtable was very well received. I want to thank those of you in attendance for reflecting the concerns of the screener force with your exceptional strategic level questions – questions that related directly to the health of the Private Screening Pilot Program.

While in town, Admiral Loy addressed members of the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) and the media. When asked about our program, he stated, “the private screening operations seem to be going very, very well. The experience at MCI and the other four airports with private screeners will help guide decisions next year on whether to maintain the federal work force at all airports.”

The work we do is important, indeed, critical to the security of our homeland. We are privileged to have the opportunity to demonstrate the strength of a public-private partnership in the service of our nation. Thank you for your dedication and service.
